Nilofar Niazi, FounderRecovery is not a passive event. It is an intensive, precise, and deeply human process. We built this clinic to match that ambition.
Conditions we treat
Focused exclusively on neurological rehabilitation.
Technology
20+ robotic technologies. Selected for evidence.
“Modern technologies can greatly improve the rehabilitation of people with neurological impairments: Robots can increase the therapy dose, wearable devices enable more mobile training and computer games increase patient engagement. This accelerates and improves the success of therapy and the therapy is enjoyable.”

The why
Every patient has a story. Ours started with Nataniel.
In 2009, my four-month-old son Nataniel suffered a severe brain injury. I stopped working and dedicated myself entirely to finding meaningful solutions — studying, researching, and consulting with experts around the world.
I became convinced that patients can experience improvement at any stage, and that the right combination of technology, data, and clinical expertise makes a real difference. Nextherapy is built on everything I learned through that journey.

And it works.
Testimonials
“There are professionals at work here who support me on my way with their many years of experience. I feel comfortable at Nextherapy because it is my needs that count and people meet as equals. Nextherapy radiates a feel-good atmosphere that makes me feel more “human” than “patient”.”

Common questions
Yes. Our therapy programmes are fully covered by mandatory Swiss health insurance (Krankenkasse/KVG), Invalidenversicherung (IV), Unfallkassen (UVG), and Militärversicherung (MV). There is no supplemental fee for the use of robotic technology. We handle all insurance billing directly on your behalf.
Begin with a free pre-assessment consultation where we review your medical history, goals, and current function. We then work with your neurologist or GP to obtain the necessary prescription (Kostengutsprache) from your insurer. Once approved, you can start therapy, often within days.
We typically recommend 2–3 sessions per week for optimal neuroplasticity. The intensity and frequency are tailored to your specific condition, goals, and endurance. Our clinical team will design an individualised programme after your initial assessment.
Our robotic systems deliver 4,000+ targeted movement repetitions per session, up to 80 times more than conventional therapy. This intensive, repetitive stimulation is what drives neuroplasticity and meaningful recovery. We combine this with expert clinical oversight, gamified feedback, and an evidence-based approach.
Yes. Our paediatric programme treats children from the age of 4 months with conditions including cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, and developmental neurological conditions. The Lokomat® paediatric system is specifically designed for smaller bodies and it typically can accommodate children who are approximately 2½ years old and older. We have several therapists with special paediatric training.
Neuroplasticity is greatest in the early stages post-event, so earlier is better. We work with patients from the subacute phase (weeks after stroke or injury) through to chronic stages (years later). It is never too late to make meaningful gains. Research shows neuroplasticity continues throughout life.
With two locations in Zürich and St. Gallen, we work hard to minimise waiting times. In most cases we can begin the assessment process within 1–2 weeks of your initial enquiry. Contact us to discuss your situation and we will do our best to accommodate urgent cases.
For insurance coverage, you will need a prescription from a specialist (neurologist, rehabilitation physician) or GP. We can support you in obtaining this referral. For self-paying clients, a referral is not mandatory but we always recommend neurological medical oversight alongside any rehabilitation programme.
Our clinical team speaks German, English, French, Italian, and several other languages. We want every patient to feel fully understood, so we will always match you with a therapist who can communicate in your preferred language.
Absolutely. We encourage family involvement as a key part of the rehabilitation process. Family members can observe sessions, receive home exercise guidance, and participate in goal-setting. For paediatric patients, parental involvement is particularly important and actively integrated into the programme.
